Newport Pride Equality Festival

As part of the Newport Pride Weekend, a festival will take place in Equality Park from 12-4 PM on Sunday, June 2. All are welcome to come out and show your support for LGBT+ community in Newport and beyond. This event is family friendly.

A free, family-friendly show from the award-winning Bit Players improv comedy group in the Firehouse Theater next to the park at 1 PM.

Performance by Women in Unity, a local dance group, at 2 PM, followed by drag performances, spoken word, song, and stand-up comedy from our generous local talent including Buddy Bing, Ivanna B Drag, Crybaby, Steyonce, Dion Baker (Mr Gay RI 2013), and Nika Zhara Lomazzo.

Drag story time for kids at 3:30 PM with Nadia Starr.

And a special dance contribution from Island Moving Company dancers!

**Join us BEFORE the festival for our Pride Ride 2-mile bike ride through town, in partnership with Bike Newport. The ride will start and end at Equality Park. Wear your best bike-friendly / bike safe LGBT+ pride costumes and gear!

**Join us AFTER the festival for free live music at Parlor Bar & Kitchen at 4 PM
